13 Awesome Christmas Gifts You Didn’t Think About

Christmas is upon us and I want to share 13 awesome gift ideas you probably didn’t think about. And for an added bonus, these Christmas gifts are all things you don’t have to worry about going to waste!

Truth be told, I’m not the best gift giver, but I do enjoy baking and cooking, so I decided a few years ago that instead of trying to figure out what to get for everyone as Christmas gifts – aside from my husband and kids – I’d bake an assortment of goodies and package them in reusable Christmas-themed tins. Turns out, it was a huge hit, and now everyone looks forward to their baked goods each Christmas!

So I Got Thinking…

What could people get for those who are tougher to shop for?

Maybe someone wants to do something nice for a loved one, but doesn’t have much money to spend on gifts.

Someone might really not want anything, but you still want to do something to make them feel special.

There are tons of reasons one may need new gift ideas this year, so it was time to come up with a list that anyone could use!

Consumable Gifts

  • Cookies
  • Brownies
  • Homemade soup mixes
  • Homemade hot chocolate mixes
  • Basket with a pack of popcorn, candy, hot chocolate pouch, and a movie (or movie rental code/gift card if you want to keep it super low-cost)

Free/Affordable Gifts

  • Acts of Kindness
    • Clean their house, do their yard work, bring dinner over, take their dog on a walk…the options here are truly endless. This could help anyone – whether it’s a new mom, parent, grandparent, sibling, or someone else who could use a little help.
  • Recipes
    • If you make an incredible dish that you know someone loves and would enjoy being able to make whenever they’d like, give them a handwritten (or printed, no judgment here) card with your special recipe.
  • Coupons
    • Picnic, coffee date, ice cream date, day of movie-watching with candy and popcorn at home — it can be anything and for anyone – no romance required! Just get creative and think about what this person enjoys.
  • Gift cards
    • Favorite restaurants, movie theaters, favorite stores, etc.

Photo Gifts

  • Customized blanket
  • Personalized photo album
  • Customized coffee mug or tumbler
  • Canvas collage

You could mix and match quite a few of these to make gifts for your loved ones even better; for example, you could add a customized mug to go with the hot chocolate pouch in the movie gift basket.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, so leave me a comment with some more gift ideas and pin for later!
